About
The border between disciplines is not a wall. It's an invitation.
The most important problems in the world don't respect disciplinary boundaries. A leadership challenge is also a psychological one. An intercultural misunderstanding is also a systems problem. The questions that matter most live at the intersection — and that's where the best thinking happens.
Interdisciplinarist is a project by Magda Kaspary — a space for writing, tools, and ideas that weave together the fields she has spent her career navigating: leadership development, systems thinking, intercultural intelligence, and the kind of professional wisdom that comes only from experience.
Why "Interdisciplinarist"
An interdisciplinarist is someone who refuses to stay in one lane. Not because they can't specialize, but because they've seen what happens when disciplines talk to each other — unexpected connections, deeper understanding, better questions.
In an era of increasing specialization, the ability to think across boundaries is becoming rarer and more valuable. AI can summarize, calculate, and argue within a discipline faster than any human. What it can't do — yet — is the connecting work. The creative leap that sees a pattern from psychology illuminating an organizational design problem, or a principle from systems theory reshaping a leadership approach.
That's the work this space is about.
Four pillars
Everything here is organized around four interconnected areas of inquiry:
Leadership Development
What makes a leader worth following — beyond title and technique. The inner work, the relational skill, and the courage to ask hard questions.
Systems Thinking
Seeing the whole rather than just the parts. Understanding feedback loops, leverage points, and why the obvious solution is often the wrong one.
Intercultural Development
Understanding how culture shapes perception, communication, and meaning. Not knowing about other cultures, but understanding how your own shapes everything you see.
Professional Wisdom
The hard-won lessons that only come from doing the work. The judgment, timing, and discernment that no textbook can teach and no AI can replicate.
About Magda
Magda Kaspary has spent over two decades working across Brazil, Latin America, Europe, and the United States — navigating the intersection of people, organizations, and culture. Her career in HR began with one clear intention: to make the workplace a more humane experience. Over the years, she kept discovering that no single discipline held the full answer.
She writes about what she's learned at those intersections. Interdisciplinarist is where she shares that thinking publicly — as essays, workbooks, and practical tools for anyone who believes that the best answers come from better questions.
